Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and music producer. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like a non-person. In the 9th grade, she started to feel more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success for singing at a school's audition. The event not only helped to boost her confidence, but also changed her goals in the future. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her journey in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, aged 23, her movie debut was You've received mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more recognition. An accomplished singer She has also recorded one single and an extended piece. Also, she's an activist and is a tireless advocate for LGBT rights.
